This is a website dedicated to the marine research lab of Dr. Tyler Burton Smith. Dr. Smith's lab is located in the Center for Marine and Environmental Science of the University of the Virgin Islands on the island of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Research areas focus on many aspects of coral reef ecology such as long term coral health monitoring, fish community assessments, ciguatera fish toxin studies, water quality in the USVI, and mesophotic reef research.
